Is Your Life Possibilities?

Are you an Optimist, Pessimist or Realist?

What is the first thought in your mind when you look at the picture of the doors? The first thought will tell you if you are an optimist, pessimist or even a realist. Do you see a possibility?

An optimist will immediately want to know what’s behind each door.

A pessimist wants to know which door is safe.

A realist will open any door and cope with whatever they find.

Do You Exist in Possibility? – What is Your World?

Do you live in a world of possibility? A world in which if something goes wrong, it doesn’t matter because there is always another possibility.

Or are you a pessimist (Tend to stress the negative or unfavourable or to take the gloomiest possible view) or an optimist (disposed to create a favourable picture of events or conditions and to expect the most favourable outcome)?

Or maybe you are a mixture of the two with a tendency to lean more to one than the other.

Maybe you are a realist (Have a firm grip on reality and can see things for what they are, not what people tell you they are. Realists have their views and do not fall victim to propaganda, misconception, or titles!)

Quotes

“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.” ― William Arthur Ward

“The pessimist looks down and hits his head. The optimist looks up and loses his footing. The realist looks forward and adjusts his path accordingly.” — Robert Kirkman

“Pessimists see only the tunnel; the optimist sees the light at the end of the tunnel; the realist sees the tunnel and the light – and the next tunnel.” — Sydney J. Harris

“To understand possible means to understand impossible.” — Dejan Stojanovic

“Extraordinary people visualise not what is possible or probable, but rather what is impossible. And by visualising the impossible, they begin to see it as possible” — Cherie Carter-Scott

“Too often it’s about what stands before us, not what stands within us.” — Craig D. Lounsbrough

The World Needs All Three Types

It doesn’t matter which type you are because the world benefits when all exist. It does help if you know what your tendency is.

Optimists, Pessimists or Realists can still choose a world of possibility. An optimist expects the best; a pessimist expects the worst and the realist expects things are as they see them.

When Expectations Fail

We all have some expectations. Society, parents, friends, school, work, etc., also have expectations of us.

What happens if something doesn’t turn out the way you expected? In most cases, people tend to get upset or disagree with the outcome. For example, golfers have been known to smash their club or beat up their bag.

But if you begin with possibility and something doesn’t turn out the way you expected, then you still have endless more possibilities. You don’t get upset and instead find other options. For example, golfers learn from the experience gained from the outcome of a shot and try something a little different next time.

Living in a world of possibility means there will always be more opportunities. Endless possibilities will keep you focussed on the bigger picture as you create more chances you will find even more possibilities come into your awareness.

There are always Unlimited Possibilities

It doesn’t matter who you are or what type of person you are; you still have the choice of seeing any desired outcome as a possibility.

Do not take my word for it. Check it out. How do you react when something you expected didn’t work out? If you get emotional, then the chances are you have failed expectations.

When you follow the possibility path, you’ll find it produces far more acceptable outcomes. You automatically identify more options when a possibility doesn’t achieve the result you wanted.
